This section is intended for players who are new to the game or class, have no intentions of raiding Mythic difficulty, or simply want a more straightforward way to play their specialization without being overwhelmed by the numerous priorities and active abilities that need to be taken into consideration for optimal play.

1. The Basics

Enhancement in Legion is very focused around the flow of your Maelstrom and reacting to your Stormbringer procs. There are some ancillary effects that must be maintained between your Flametongue buff and some talent effects that are used in this build to enhance your damage, but the core gameplay plays itself in many ways.

The vital aspect to understand is that maintaining your two core buffs with this build in Flametongue and Landslide is crucial, whilst making sure you keep Stormstrike on cooldown, alongside maintaining enough of a Maelstrom reserve to be able to react to Stormbringer procs as they happen.

2. Talent Choice

The Enhancement build is already quite strict even in more performance oriented choices, but the build listed below removes the more extreme buff juggling mechanics in lieu of free stat bonuses to ease that mechanic out. Whilst there are alternatives to push damage higher, this will provide the easiest path into learning Enhancement without any significant performance drops.

• Level 15: Landslide
• Level 30: Feral Lunge
• Level 45: Lightning Surge Totem
• Level 60: Ancestral Swiftness
• Level 75: Tempest
• Level 90: Crashing Storm
• Level 100: Boulderfist.

3. Stat Choice

The current Enhancement stat priority is as follows when using this build:

1. Agility;
2. Haste;
3. Mastery;
4. Critical Strike;
5. Versatility.

Enhancement stats are somewhat fluid, depending on the gear you are currently wearing. Mastery is universally valuable to increase your Stormbringer chance, whilst Haste synergizes very well with this alongside the rest of the toolkit. Both Versatility and Critical Strike are noticeably weaker, but not so much that you should disregard all items with this on.

4. Basic Rotation

• Cast Feral Spirit for a burst of damage.
• Cast Rockbiter to maintain Landslide or if you are about to hit 2 charges.
• Cast Crash Lightning if at 2 targets or above.
• Cast Flametongue to maintain the buff.
• Cast Doom Winds.
• Cast Stormstrike if available, especially with Stormbringer active.
• Cast Rockbiter to generate Maelstrom.
• Cast Lava Lash at 30 Maelstrom with nothing else available.

Note here that there are a lot of small optimisations that can be done with the priority list in certain situations, but I have foregone listing these in a simple section to cover the most important aspects. Consult the advanced sections on the rotation page to delve deeper.
