This page shows you how to level up the Artifact and how to choose the right Relics for your Retribution Paladins. It is updated for World of Warcraft Legion 7.2.5.

1. Artifact Progression

For the first 35 Artifact points you will spend, we currently recommend a straightforward Artifact progression path that will lead you to the Ashes to Ashes trait (which is very important).

1. Wake of Ashes
2. Blade of Light
3. Deliver the Justice
4. Sharpened Edge
5. Wrath of the Ashbringer
6. Highlord's Judgment
7. Endless Resolve
8. Might of the Templar
9. Ashes to Ashes
10. Deflection
11. Echo of the Highlord
12. Embrace the Light
13. Divine Tempest
14. Righteous Blade
15. Unbreakable Will, Protector of the Ashen Blade, and Healing Storm (in any order)

After this, you should take the remaining traits in the following order.

1. Ferocity of the Silver Hand
2. Righteous Verdict
3. Blessing of the Ashbringer
4. Judge Unworthy
5. Wrath of the Ashbringer
6. Deliver the Justice
7. Might of the Templar
8. Righteous Blade
9. Embrace the Light, Highlord's Judgment, Protector of the Ashen Blade, Sharpened Edge, and Deflection (in any order)
10. Concordance of the Legionfall

2. Relic Choice

When choosing which Relics to use, you need to look not only at the item level of the relic, but also at its effect. You can consider that the effect of the relic is worth a certain number of item levels (in addition to the item level of the relic itself).

Below, we list the relics in descending order of power, assuming equal item levels, and next to each relic we also list how many item levels its effect is worth. Therefore, when comparing two relics, look at the combined item level each one has after adding its effect's worth to the relic's item level.

1. Wrath of the Ashbringer (26 item levels)
2. Righteous Blade (22 item levels)
3. Deliver the Justice (15 item levels)
4. Righteous Verdict (15 item levels)
5. Might of the Templar (10 item levels)
6. Sharpened Edge (8 item levels)
7. Highlord's Judgment (7 item levels)
