1. Basics

The stat priority for a Demonology Warlock is:

1. Haste;
2. Intellect;
3. Critical Strike = Mastery;
4. Versatility.

These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.

2. Stat Weights

Please consider that stat weights are very approximate and will always vary from player to player. The factors that affect stat weights are:

• Your current item level;
• Your current legendaries;
• What set bonus, if any, you are using;
• Your current distrubtion of stats.

These weights are calculated for players in Tomb of Sargeras Heroic raid gear, and can be used as a rough approximation for your character. For truly accurate stat weights you will have to sim your own character using the correct parameters.

1. Haste: 1.22
2. Intellect: 1.0
3. Critical Strike: 0.97
4. Mastery: 0.95
5. Versatility: 0.88

3. Statistics Explanations

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.

Haste influences the cast speed of all your spells, as well as the number of attacks your demons can output before despawning. It also increases the frequency of your Doom ticks. Haste is a particularly strong stat for Demonology as it affects the caster and your demons in equally beneficial respects. It is also a very forgiving stat as it considerably increases Soul Shard influx which smooths the rotation and allows you to spend them more casually.

Mastery, through Mastery: Master Demonologist, increases the damage dealt by your demons while Demonic Empowerment is active. Mastery scales in synergy with Haste, but doesn't affect the caster's spells.

Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities.

Versatility is a flat-out damage done increase and damage taken reduction.
