This section is intended for players who are new to the game or class, have no intentions of raiding Mythic difficulty, or simply want a more straightforward way to play their specialization without being overwhelmed by the numerous priorities and active abilities that need to be taken into consideration for optimal play.

1. The Basics

Demonology focuses on maintaining a small army of demons at all times, which will deal the majority of your damage. Without a proper user interface and the assistance of third party AddOns, this specialization can be difficult to understand and play properly. In this section we will be focusing on a setup that minimizes the amount of buttons, AddOns, and reactivity necessary without unduly compromising overall damage output.

2. Talent Choice

These choices are optimized for ease of use. Although some talents might offer marginally higher gains when played perfectly, these same talents often result in damage losses when utilized by many players. These talents aim to present the best setup that has very little punishment for unfamiliarity or mistakes.

• Level 30: Improved Dreadstalkers
• Level 45: Demonic Circle
• Level 60: Hand of Doom
• Level 75: Demon Skin
• Level 90: Grimoire of Service
• Level 100: Demonbolt

3. Stat Choice

Currently, you will want to prioritize secondary stats as follows:

1. Haste;
2. Intellect;
3. Critical Strike;
4. Mastery;
5. Versatility.

4. Basic Rotation

1. Cast Demonbolt to generate Soul Shards.
2. Cast Call Dreadstalkers whenever available to spend Soul Shards.
3. Cast Hand of Gul'dan if you have 4+ Soul Shards.
4. Cast Summon Doomguard or Summon Infernal on cooldown (Doomguard for 1 target, Infernal for 2+ targets).
5. Cast Demonic Empowerment after summoning demons with Call Dreadstalkers, Hand of Gul'dan, Summon Doomguard, or Summon Infernal.
6. Cast Command Demon+ Felstorm on cooldown.
7. Cast Demonwrath to generate Soul Shards if there are 3+ targets stacked around your demons.
8. Cast Thal'kiel's Consumption when available.
9. Cast Life Tap when you need to restore Mana.
