Talents can be freely changed when out of combat and in a rested XP area
(such as an inn or a capital city). Moreover,
Tome of the Tranquil Mind
and
Codex of the Tranquil Mind can be used to temporarily allow
players to change talents anywhere, as long as they are out of
combat.
2. Talent Cheat Sheet
Whilst tailoring your selections based on the situation and desired content is recommended with the new talents, the following builds are a great starting point and will generally cover most aspects of gameplay well.

3. Tier 1 (Level 15) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 1 talents provide different situational enhancements.
War Machine causes killing blows to grant 30% increased Haste
and movement speed for 15 seconds.
Endless Rage causes all Rage generated by auto attacks to be
increased by 30%.
Fresh Meat grants
Bloodthirst an additional 60%
critical strike chance against targets above 80% health.
Endless Rage allows for higher rage generation than
and is the best, most consistent choice on average.
War Machine is the best choice by far however if there are
extra targets dying frequently enough to maintain the effect
semi-consistently. It is important to note that it does not
require the killing blow, only having dealt damage to the target
within a second of it dying.
Fresh Meat is uncompetitive due to the small window and low
impact effect.
4. Tier 2 (Level 30) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 2 talents provide additional control and mobility options.
Shockwave is an active ability with a 40-second cooldown. It
is a frontal cone attack that deals low Physical damage to enemies within 10
yards, and stuns them for 3 seconds. Its cooldown is reduced by 20 seconds if
it strikes at least 3 targets.
Storm Bolt is an active ability with a 20-yard range and a
30-second cooldown. It deals low Physical damage to the target, stunning them
for 4 seconds.
Double Time increases the maximum charges of
Charge by 1, and reduces its cooldown and recharge time by 3
seconds (down to 17 seconds.)
Double Time is the go to choice in this tier when there is no
extra crowd control needed, as it is a significant increase to mobility.
Shockwave is only used in specific situations that
require extra AoE stuns and is a good choice in dungeons.
Storm Bolt is only used for specific situations that require
extra single-target stuns, but is generally a poor choice.
5. Tier 3 (Level 45) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 3 talents provide situational offensive tools.
Wrecking Ball causes your attacks to have a chance to increase
the damage of your next
Whirlwind to deal 250% increased damage.
Outburst causes
Berserker Rage to trigger
Enrage when activated and reduces the cooldown by 15 seconds.
Avatar is an active ability with a 90-second cooldown. You deal
20% increased damage for Avatar's 20-second duration, and activating Avatar
removes all roots and snares.
Avatar is the go to choice for single target or burst AoE fights
that can make use of the increased damage effect's duration.
Wrecking Ball is a good choice when constantly using
Whirlwind against multiple targets, particularly in dungeons.
Outburst is currently too weak to be considered.
6. Tier 4 (Level 60) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 4 talents provide additional defensive and mobility effects.
Furious Charge causes
Charge to increase the
healing provided by your next
Bloodthirst cast by 300%.
Bounding Stride passively reduces the cooldown of
Heroic Leap by 15 seconds, and also causes Heroic Leap to grant you a
70% movement speed increase for 3 seconds.
Warpaint reduces the damage taken increase from
Enrage to 15% down from 20%.
Warpaint is the go to pick in raiding and group content as it
provides damage reduction by lessening the negative effects of
Enrage.
Bounding Stride provides a good increase to mobility and is a
great choice in raid encounters that require that but have no targets to
Charge to.
Furious Charge is a poor choice in raids, but a great choice in
open world content for sustaining health.
7. Tier 5 (Level 75) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 5 talents provide situational damage increases related to Rage.
Massacre causes
Execute critical strikes to
reduce the Rage cost of your next
Rampage by 100%.
Frothing Berserker causes you to deal 15% increased damage and
gain 30% increased movement speed for 6 seconds when you reach 100 Rage.
Carnage reduces the Rage cost of
Rampage to
70, from 85.
Frothing Berserker synergizes extremely well with the level 100
talent
Reckless Abandon and the Nighthold trinket
Convergence of Fates,
making it a great choice for single target encounters that do not benefit from
significant
Execute phases.
Massacre is only powerful during in single target fights with
extended
Execute phases, increasing the uptime of your
Enrage effect during these periods, so generally is not used.
Carnage is a simpler choice for multiple targets, but is weaker comparative
to the alternatives. It allows for more frequent uses of
Rampage,
increasing the overall uptime of
Enrage and enhancing your use of
Meat Cleaver. This only sees relevant use in Open World content
currently.
8. Tier 6 (Level 90) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 6 talents grant situational offensive enhancements.
Bloodbath grants an additional active ability, causing all
melee abilities and attacks to deal an additional 40% Bleed damage over 6
seconds, lasting 8 seconds. This has a 30-second cooldown.
Frenzy causes
Furious Slash to increase your
haste by 4% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.
Inner Rage removes the
Enrage requirement from
Raging Blow, and increases its damage by 100%, but it now has a
4.5-second cooldown.
Inner Rage is the go to talent, allowing for consistent and
more powerful
Raging Blow uses by removing the
Enrage requirement and intensifying the damage per cast
significantly.
Bloodbath is powerful on encounters with frequent extended
multi-target periods, if targets die too quickly and the full 14 seconds of the
effect is lost, it becomes much weaker.
Frenzy is less competitive with Tier 20 bonuses than
Inner Rage, but is still usable. This due to the amount of Global
cooldowns required on weak
Furious Slash casts to maintain the effect.
9. Tier 7 (Level 100) Talents
|
|
|
|
Tier 7 talents provide significant situational damage increases.
Bladestorm grants an additional active ability that deals
massive Physical damage to all targets within 8 yards. While active you cannot
use other offensive abilities, but are immune to all crowd control abilities,
can continue to avoid attacks and cast defensive abilities. This has a
1.5-minute cooldown.
Reckless Abandon causes
Battle Cry to generate
100 Rage when activated, and increases its duration by 2 seconds.
Dragon Roar grants an additional active ability that deals
moderate Physical damage to all enemies within 8 yards, and increases damage
dealt by 16% for 6 seconds. This damage ignores all armor, always critically
strikes, and has a 25-second cooldown.
Reckless Abandon is the best choice for Fury due to how strong
Battle Cry is, synergizing extremely well with
Frothing Berserker
allowing for a guaranteed activation when used. Works best in almost all
situations.
Bladestorm is very powerful in predictable periods of burst
AoE, but only if they are more frequent than
Odyn's Fury allows,
which makes it far too specific to really be considered.
Dragon Roar still adds strong burst to the toolkit, but is now outclassed
by the alternative
Reckless Abandon in terms of power when coupled with
other talents available.
