1. Spell Summary
If you are new to Fury, this is a great place to start to get an understanding of how the spec works. In this section we will discuss what abilities you have, what they are used for within the specialization, how they interact with each other and also with important cooldowns. If you already have experience with Fury before or are comfortable with the spec in Legion, it is recommended you skip this section and move on to the rest of the guide.
2. Main Resource
Rage is your primary resource, generated both through your auto attacks and
through some active abilities at differing rates. It is used to fuel your most
powerful abilities such as
Rampage and
Execute,
and managing it is crucial for maximizing
Enrage and maintaining
the flow of your abilities.
3. Basic Abilities
These are your core skills that are available regardless of talents, and form the core gameplay of the specialization.
Bloodthirst is your core ability, dealing moderate damage with
a 4.5-second cooldown, generating 10 Rage and triggering the powerful
Enrage effect on critical strikes. It also heals you for 4% of
your maximum health when cast.
Rampage is your primary Rage spender, dealing high damage with
no cooldown, and triggering
Enrage on sucessful casts. This costs
a large amount of Rage at 85, so using it to maintain the
Enrage
effect efficiently is crucial as this is your only way of consistently
guaranteeing a proc.
Raging Blow is a high damage ability only useable when you are
affected by
Enrage, with no cooldown and generating 5 Rage. This
should be used as often as
Enrage allows you.
Furious Slash deals low damage, but increases the critical
strike chance of
Bloodthirst by 15% until it next deals a critical
strike, stacking up to 6 times. This is purely filler and is rarely used.
Execute is only usable on targets under 20% health, and deals
massive damage with no cooldown, at the cost of 25 Rage. This is your hardest
hitting ability and is used frequently on targets when available whenever you
have
Enrage active.
Whirlwind is your main AoE skill, dealing low damage to
all targets within 8 yards, is free and has no cooldown, and triggers the
Meat Cleaver effect. This is used frequently as a filler on 2 or
more targets.
Charge is your primary movement tool on a 20-second cooldown
that instantly rushes you to your target, generating 20 Rage and rooting them
for 1.5 seconds. Use this often to stay on targets and generate additional Rage.
4. Important Procs
Enrage procs from successful
Rampage casts and
Bloodthirst critical strikes, increasing attack speed by 100% and
damage dealt based on
Mastery: Unshackled Fury.
Meat Cleaver causes
Rampage and
Bloodthirst to strike 4 additional targets in range for 50%, and
is gained from
Whirlwind casts.
5. Offensive Cooldowns
Battle Cry increases your critical strike chance by 100% for 5
seconds, on a 1-minute cooldown. This should be used on cooldown to trigger
Enrage and deal increased burst.
