Balance Druid DPS Stat Priority (Legion 7.2.5)
Table of Contents
General Information
On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Balance Druids in World of Warcraft Legion 7.2.5, how the class benefits from each of them.
The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).

1. Basics
The stat priority for a Balance Druid is as follows.
- Haste;
- Mastery;
- Intellect;
- Critical Strike;
- Versatility.
Keep in mind that this priority is only a guideline. Under no circumstances should you forsake large item level upgrades just because the piece has less Haste (unless it is a piece of jewelry). Also, do not fall into the trap of stacking nothing but Haste. As with all classes, the values of secondary stats rise and fall depending on how much you have of them. Haste is the strongest stat for Balance, but there comes a point where its value drops below Mastery and Intellect, and if you stack nothing but Haste its value will eventually be below other stats as well. Try to never have more than twice as much Haste as you have Critical Strike, and never have twice as much Critical Strike as you have Mastery and Versatility.
These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.
2. Getting a Better Understanding
2.1. Statistics Priority
Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.
Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities.
Mastery, through
Mastery: Starlight, increases the
damage of
Starsurge and
Starfall, and increases
the effects of your Lunar, Solar, and Stellar Empowerments.
Haste increases your casting speed and your Astral Power generation (as a result of you being able to cast more spells).
Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.
