This page is a gear reference for Discipline Priests. It lists your best items and Legendaries, gives you gearing advice, and shows you how you will be competing for loot with other classes.

1. Best in Slot List

We are currently not recommending a best in slot list, but we do make some important trinket recommendations (below).

2. Trinket Recommendations

Make sure to be prioritising Mana trinkets. Amalgam's Seventh Spine is best. Darkmoon Deck: Promises is easily accessible as it is crafted.

Moreover, Tarnished Sentinel Medallion from the Tomb of Sargeras raid will be considered a top contender, but obtaining it might be difficult. Lastly, it is important to mention that Velen's Future Sight is an extremely strong choice (the best you could have), but as a legendary item, obtaining it is highly unreliable.

3. Tier 20 Set Bonuses

The 2-piece Set Bonus is a nice passive throughput increase and is overall quite a good option.

The 4-piece Set Bonus is outstanding, increasing throughput and improving Mana regeneration. It is extremely desirable.

4. Legendary Items

Legendary items have a high item level of 970, which makes them extremely strong. They are so strong, in fact, that a legendary item is always going to be worth equipping over any other item you might have in that slot.

However, there is a limitation on the number of legendary items you can have equipped at any one time (by default 1, but by now most players should be able to equip 2). Since some legendary items are better than others, if you have more items than the limit, you will have to choose which ones to equip.

Below, we will do our best to guide you through this process, as well as provide any other relevant information.

Velen's Future Sight is an extremely powerful trinket, and is essentially the best legendary item you can use.

Soul of the High Priest is a top legendary, second only to Velen's Future Sight. It works very well if you are using the Twist of Fate and Castigation talents.

Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus is a very good legendary, providing both survivability and good stats.

Xalan the Feared's Clench is strong, especially on long encounters, provided that you can keep Atonement up on yourself.

Cord of Maiev, Priestess of the Moon is quite strong, and is good for improving your Evangelism bursts. Keep in mind not to Smite excessively in an effort to get this legendary to proc.

Estel, Dejahna's Inspiration is a decent legendary that averages out to between 6-8% Haste, which makes it a solid but not great choice.

Skjoldr, Sanctuary of Ivagont is a decent legendary, providing you with a moderate throughput increase. It is best used in dungeons, where Pain Suppression is used more often.

Sephuz's Secret is not a particularly powerful legendary, but it can have its uses. It is best used when you can frequently dispel during the fight and therefore trigger its effect. It is ideal for dungeon content but it could work even on some raid encounters.

Inner Hallation is not a great legendary item, and it is essentially a worse version of Estel, Dejahna's Inspiration.

Norgannon's Foresight is only recommended if you need more mobility, but it is otherwise undesirable.

N'ero, Band of Promises is rather situational, and should only be used if you want to conserve Mana for when you anticipate people will be stacked inside of your Power Word: Barrier; overall, we do not recommend it.

The only benefit Kam Xi'raff provides is that it has Haste on it, but aside from this it is very weak.

5. Loot Competition

Discipline Priests use Cloth Armor with Intellect as their main stats.

Therefore, apart from other Discipline Priests, they will also be competing for items with the classes listed below:
